• DOWN Kicks Off 'Strap It Down' Summer 2026 North American Trek In Atlanta (Video) (metaladdicts.com) — Heavy metal supergroup DOWN is bringing Zakk Wylde's Berzerkus festival to Wantagh on August 29, part of the band's "Strap It Down" North American tour. The bill also features Lamb of God, Black Label Society, and more, giving local metal fans a rare chance to see several major acts in one night. The tour supports a newly remastered edition of DOWN's 2007 album Over The Under.
   

• Reputed Gambino crime family member Angelo Ruggiero Jr. out on bail _ after pleading guilty in NBA card fixing case _ to seek medical treatment, records show (newsday.com) — A Wantagh resident, identified in court records as Ernest Aiello, is among several defendants choosing to go to trial in a wide‑ranging federal case over allegedly rigged high‑stakes card games tied to NBA personalities. Another defendant, reputed Gambino associate Angelo Ruggiero Jr., has been released on a multimillion‑dollar bond for medical treatment while awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to wire fraud.
