Sentencing is scheduled for August, with prosecutors seeking a multi-year prison term.

β’ Westbury native Gerald Elias and his recently published book (longislandpress.com) β A mystery author and professional violinist who grew up in Westbury and attended Westbury High School has released a new crime-story collection inspired by his travels, including some tales set on Long Island. He says his upbeat retired-cop protagonist reflects the straightforward, local sensibility he absorbed here. A sequel taking the characters abroad is already in the works.
