A new county report says 2025 filming generated $1.85 billion in economic impact, thousands of jobs, and millions in tax revenue, with room for even more growth that could further benefit White Plains businesses.
   

2. 6 Nonprofit Organizations Funding the Arts in Westchester County (westchestermagazine.com) — A major boost is coming to White Plains' arts scene, with ArtsWestchester receiving a record $5 million state allocation to upgrade its downtown headquarters and expand programs countywide. Additional state, county, federal, and foundation grants will also flow to dozens of Westchester arts groups, supporting performances, exhibitions, and education programs that local residents can attend in the coming year.
   

3. Westchester Knicks Forward Nick Jourdain Joins the 2026 NBA G League United Roster (oursportscentral.com) — White Plains-based Westchester Knicks are celebrating forward Nick Jourdain's selection to the 2026 NBA G League United Team for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Beijing from Sept. 22–27. Jourdain, who earned his roster spot through a local tryout, will join associate head coach Devan Blair, highlighting the strong player development happening right in White Plains.
   

4. Cord Meyer Breaks Ground on Rentals at Bay Terrace Shopping Center (connectcre.com) — While Cord Meyer is starting a big new rental project in Queens, the company is also building a 203-unit residential development at 70 Westchester Avenue in White Plains. With Callahan Construction as general contractor, this White Plains project adds to the growing pipeline of new housing that could bring more residents, retail demand, and activity to the city's core.
