Classes run 2–4 p.m. on Sept. 19 and Oct. 17, with tiered pricing and free admission for kids five and under.

North Charlotte crime scene leads to high-speed chase through I-85 traffic into South Carolina (qcnews.com) — A violent incident in north Charlotte Wednesday afternoon escalated into a high-speed police chase down I-85 through heavy west Charlotte traffic and into Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Charlotte-Mecklenburg officers pursued a red pickup seen weaving past a broken-down charter bus before the suspect was arrested in South Carolina; no officers were hurt and no shots were fired.
   

3. Charlotte brothers face 200 charges, held without bond after crime spree (wsoctv.com) — Charlotte residents are learning more about a six-week crime spree that police say involved two local brothers now facing nearly 200 charges and being held without bond. Investigators link them to multiple shootings, including one that injured a CMPD officer and another that riddled a west Charlotte home with bullets, plus several dealership vehicle thefts.
   

4. CMS hosts job fair to recruit bus driver applicants to fill critical shortage (wccbcharlotte.com) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is urgently recruiting new bus drivers in Charlotte to ease a critical shortage that's straining current staff and delaying student transportation. After hosting a major hiring event, CMS is still encouraging applicants to apply online, offering in-house CDL training and emphasizing the important daily role drivers play in students' school experience.
   

5. Duke Energy drops fight against NCDOL fine in the electrocution death of Charlotte lineman (qcnews.com) — A Charlotte lineman's 2024 electrocution is back in the spotlight as Duke Energy drops its appeal and moves to pay a state safety fine over inadequate protective gear. The decision follows a lengthy legal process and leaves questions about completed payment and any safety changes, while the family stresses that policy improvements matter more than money.
