• Update for City of Hickory water customers (taylorsvilletimes.com) — Conover residents on the City of Hickory water system must follow tightened Stage 2 drought rules, including no lawn irrigation on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday and a two‑day‑per‑week limit. The order also bans most home car washing, filling pools, and running decorative fountains, with escalating fines and possible loss of irrigation service for repeated violations.
