• Fancy Gap shooting leaves one dead (pmg-va.com) — A deadly shooting on Fancy Gap Highway in the Cana area of Carroll County left a 23-year-old Mount Airy man dead and led to the arrest of a 49-year-old Ararat resident. Carroll County deputies charged him with second degree murder and multiple firearm offenses, and he is being held without bond while the investigation continues with help from several regional agencies.
