Officials have issued a swimming advisory there until water tests show fecal bacteria levels are safely back within state guidelines. 
• Proposed Irongate subdivision hotly contested by Lincoln County residents (lakenormanpublications.com) — County leaders heard heated debate over the massive Irongate subdivision in Iron Station, but they did approve two separate high‑density projects in Denver: a shoe warehouse on Sinclair Street and a small funeral home off N.C. 16 Business. Both Denver projects include stormwater controls and passed unanimously, signaling more commercial development and infrastructure changes coming to that part of Lincoln County.
