The wait is almost over for Fayetteville's new Chuy's (fayobserver.com) — Fayetteville diners will soon have a new option at Cross Creek Mall, as Chuy's Tex-Mex Grill opens Sept. 30 in the former Bahama Breeze space with daily lunch and dinner hours. The restaurant is hiring locally, led by an experienced general manager, and will share grand opening proceeds with the Partnership for Children of Cumberland County.
   

2. 2026 Fayetteville Election Guide (cityviewnc.com) — Fayetteville and Cumberland County voters get a one-stop guide to the 2026 election, including registration rules, key deadlines, and photo ID requirements. The guide lists specific early voting sites in Fayetteville neighborhoods, explains absentee and "registration repair" options, and highlights how local school board candidates are framing issues like enrollment, facilities, and student success.
   

3. 82nd Airborne Sgt. Sentenced for Gun Incident (oafnation.com) — An 82nd Airborne sergeant has been sentenced to five months' confinement and a bad-conduct discharge after pointing a loaded gun at another soldier during a confrontation at his Fayetteville home. Fayetteville police responded to the domestic disturbance, and Army investigators later built the case that led to his court-martial and conviction for simple assault and domestic violence.
   

4.
