• Explosion and Fire Reported Overnight on Burl Brown Road in Vilas; Investigation Underway (wataugaonline.com) — Overnight, Foscoe firefighters joined multiple departments responding to an explosion and large fire on Burl Brown Road in nearby Vilas, which is now under control. Residents near Vanderpool Road above Cove Creek Elementary may still see smoke and emergency vehicles as investigators from Watauga County agencies continue their joint investigation.
