July 7, 2026 at (hendersondispatch.com) — Two seized properties in Henderson will be sold at a public IRS auction on July 7, including a former arcade on North Cooper Drive and a four-bedroom home on Brentwood Lane. Local buyers must register on-site, meet minimum bid amounts, and follow strict federal payment rules, with the balance due in early August.
   

• 'Drop the Mike' operation yields multiple arrests (hendersondispatch.com) — Law enforcement agencies have wrapped up a major narcotics operation focused on Henderson and Vance County, seizing large quantities of heroin, meth, fentanyl, marijuana, and multiple firearms. Fourteen Henderson residents face numerous felony drug and weapons charges after months of undercover buys and search warrants, and authorities say more arrests could follow.
   

• Two found deceased at Gillside residence (hendersondispatch.com) — Two people were found dead from gunshot wounds in a Gillside-area residence after Vance County deputies conducted a welfare check near Henderson on June 8. Investigators, working with the State Bureau of Investigation, say the case does not appear random but are withholding names and location while asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office or Henderson Crime Stoppers.
