• Huntersville board breezes through approvals, allocates $241K to nonprofits (lakenormanpublications.com) — Huntersville's town board just approved rezonings, zoning changes, and $241,000 in grants to nonprofits serving local residents, while also filling a planning board vacancy. The Huntersville Police Department is asking residents to complete a confidential online survey about public safety and police services by October 16, aiming to shape how HPD serves the community. 
• Guess What Happened to These Restaurant Employees' Personal Info (townhall.com) — Two former employees of Firebirds Wood Fired Grill in Huntersville reported to local police that their identities were allegedly used so someone else could work at the restaurant, leading to unexpected tax liabilities and altered payroll records. Huntersville Police are investigating, and the company says it is cooperating but cannot comment further while the case is ongoing.
