• UPDATE: Tips help police identify Kinston convenience store thief, accomplice also charged (witn.com) — Kinston police say community tips helped them identify and arrest two people accused of stealing from a Handy Mart and two other local businesses. Both face multiple larceny, conspiracy, and drug paraphernalia charges, while one suspect also faces property damage and probation violation counts as the investigation continues and more arrests are expected. 
• Six arrested in Mitchell Wooten Apartments burglaries; suspects held at Lenoir jail (wcti12.com) — Kinston police arrested six people after multiple reported burglaries Wednesday at Mitchell Wooten Apartments, with all suspects taken to the Lenoir County Jail. Officers from different KPD squads responded to two separate break-ins at the same building, recovering stolen property and filing burglary and related charges against several Kinston, La Grange, and Lenoir County residents.
• Non-profit donates bulletproof vest to K-9 Officer in Kinston (wnct.com) — A Kinston Police Department K-9 named Kilo now has a bulletproof vest, donated by the Brady K-9 Fund to keep him safer on local calls. His handler, Officer Will Thompson, says the protection eases worries as Kilo works narcotics searches and patrols across Kinston. Other Kinston K-9s are still hoping to receive vests soon.
