• Cornelius officer terminated after partner used cameras to track ex-wife (wsoctv.com) — A former Cornelius police officer was fired after his girlfriend, then a Mooresville police employee, was charged with allegedly misusing Mooresville's Flock license plate cameras to track his ex‑wife. Mooresville Police have since dismissed her, and both departments' actions raise local questions about how automated plate readers are monitored and safeguarded.
   

• Sheriff: Arrests made in connection with pair of break-ins at residential properties (iredellfreenews.com) — Deputies recently interrupted a suspected break‑in at a home under construction on Rolling Meadows Drive near Mooresville, arresting a man accused of attempting to steal copper wiring and carrying burglary tools. In a separate case near Statesville, two other suspects were charged after electrical wire and other items were taken from a renovation site, with most of the property recovered.
   

• Walter Henry Ryder (iredellfreenews.com) — Mooresville's Cavin-Cook Funeral Home is caring for the family of 87-year-old Walter Henry Ryder, who passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026.
