Alongside other district leaders, she urged lawmakers to simplify North Carolina's school finance system and avoid late state budgets that leave districts like Mooresville guessing about raises and program funding for months.
   

• Two NASCAR legends to be inducted into Mooresville's Walk of Fame (iredellfreenews.com) — Downtown Mooresville will host a free Motorsports Celebration on Tuesday, October 6, featuring food trucks, a classic car show, and the Walk of Fame induction of NASCAR legends Dale Jarrett and Ron Hornaday Jr. The ceremony starts at 5 p.m. on Main Street, highlighting Mooresville's racing heritage and the local N.C. Auto Racing Hall of Fame on Knob Hill Road.
