About Tyler Starr
<a href="https://www.tylerstarr.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Tyler Starr</a> integrates research, direct observation, and poetic association into mixed media works that visualize contemporary social and political conundrums. He earned his Doctor of Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts as a recipient of the Japanese Ministry of Education Scholarship. He is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland, as well as residencies and fellowships at Denmark’s Christiania Research Residency, the OMI International Arts Center, and the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley.
Internationally exhibited, Starr’s work has been shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. His artist’s books are held in numerous permanent collections, including the New York Public Library’s Spencer Collection, the University of Chicago, and the Smithsonian American Art and Portrait Gallery Library. He is currently an Associate Professor of Art at Davidson College.

On May 3 from 9:30-11 a.m., hit the trails in RTP for a morning of fresh air, light movement, and literary adventure. Each month, Roaming Readers will explore a different genre with suggested selections curated in partnership with Durham County Library and Wake County Public Libraries. This month’s selection is Fantasy. Borrow a book in the month’s suggested audiobook genre from your local library. You can arrive early to apply with for a library card if you do not already have one! This month’s suggested titles include "Between Two Fires" by Christopher Buehlman, "He Who Fights with Monsters" by Shirtaloon or "No Gods, No Monsters by Cadwell Turnbull." Bring your photo ID (if you want to get a library card), phone, headphones and a water bottle and walk the trails while listening at your own pace. After the event, gather with fellow book lovers to chat about the story, share favorite moments, and connect. All paces welcome. Take breaks when you need them.

Senior living communities answer many important needs: •	Nutrition: 3 meals a day with no dishes to wash. •	Safety: Front door opens into the hallway of the community. Help with meds. •	Transportation: Community provides transportation to medical appointments, shopping and outings. •	Social: Familiar company at meals. A variety of activities including gardening, crafts and music. Which senior living community best fits her needs? Which senior living communities will accept her? Which senior living options are affordable? The average cost of assisted living $5,500 per month. Who pays? (Hint: not Medicare.) What happens to the house? the contents? How best may a family stay informed of her status?
