📰 News we're reading

• Canton seeking public input to reduce traffic deaths and injuries (centredaily.com) — Canton is asking everyone who lives, works, or travels in the city to complete an online Community Safety Action Plan survey by Sept. 30 to help reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries. The feedback will guide how Canton targets dangerous streets, pursues federal Safe Streets and Roads for All funding, and improves safety for drivers, walkers, cyclists, and transit riders across town.

• Cause of explosive Canton house fire being investigated (fox8.com) — An explosion and fire in a northeast Canton neighborhood destroyed a home on Bollinger Avenue and left a 63‑year‑old resident severely burned, though neighbors heroically pulled her to safety. Canton firefighters are still investigating the cause, while friends worry oxygen use and smoking may have played a role. Neighbors say they're grateful children weren't home and are now focused on her recovery.
