Cincinnati-area prosecutors and judges say several others have faced similar menacing cases recently, raising ongoing concerns about courthouse and personal security.
   

2. Local group hosts safety walk, cleanup to curb violence and trash in Cincinnati (local12.com) — Neighbors in Cincinnati's Price Hill are organizing safety walks and cleanups around Olden Tot Lot to push back against violence, trash, and illegal activity. Working with Cincinnati Police and the Price Hill Safety CAT, they're reclaiming the park, responding to a recent shooting, and launching a new community policing project with upcoming meetings to shape long-term solutions.
   

3. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library inspiring children to love reading (wlwt.com) — In Cincinnati, Learning Grove daycare is showing how Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is still changing young lives by mailing free books each month to children from birth to age five. Local early-learning leaders say the program is building a lifelong love of reading and joy, and Cincinnati families can sign up online or through pamphlets at their libraries.
   

4. Barbara J. Howard of Cincinnati becomes American Bar Association president (legalnews.com) — Cincinnati attorney Barbara J. Howard, whose family law firm is based here, has just become president of the American Bar Association for a one-year term. Her long record of service includes leading the Cincinnati Bar Association, serving Xavier University and UC's law school, and championing voting rights and access to justice, bringing national attention to Cincinnati's legal community.
   

5. University of Cincinnati Cancer Center helps develop landmark pancreatic cancer drug (wlwt.com) — Doctors at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center helped develop a newly FDA-approved drug that's significantly extending survival and improving quality of life for people with pancreatic cancer. UC physicians have already seen "remarkable" results in clinical trials and expect local patients to start receiving prescriptions as early as Friday, though pricing hasn't been announced yet.
