Backed by the City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County partners, the initiative targets neighborhoods with high infant mortality and aims to ease financial stress while improving maternal and infant health.
   

2. Man arrested for using ladder to look at woman through apartment window: Cleveland Heights Police Blotter (cleveland.com) — Cleveland Heights police recently handled several serious incidents, including a reported voyeur using a ladder to look into an apartment window on Mayfield Road and a man allegedly assaulted with a gun by his boyfriend. Officers also investigated a weapons incident in Forest Hills Park, a domestic violence case involving a young family, and a drunken disturbance at Lee and Superior roads involving residents of Cleveland and East Cleveland.
   

3. Browns honor Dolly Parton with moment of silence before final preseason game (fox8.com) — Before Thursday night's preseason finale in Cleveland, Browns fans at Huntington Bank Field paused for a moment of silence to honor the late Dolly Parton, who had ties to Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. The tribute came just days after the 80-year-old country icon's death, as the Browns hosted the New England Patriots in their final tune-up before the regular season.
   

4. Ohio Nepali community cancels Teej celebration, turns its efforts to flood relief (wkyc.com) — Cleveland's Nepali community is shifting from celebration to support, canceling a major Teej festival to focus on raising relief funds after catastrophic flooding in Nepal. The Nepali American Organization of Ohio and a Case Western Reserve student are channeling registrations and donations from Northeast Ohio toward disaster aid, while locals anxiously await news about missing friends and relatives.
   

5. Cleveland Heights police arrest woman for misusing 911 and abusive language toward officers (cleveland.com) — Cleveland Heights police say they arrested a woman who repeatedly called 911 from a Mayfield Road Burger King seeking rides, then refused medical transport and allegedly cursed at officers and dispatchers. According to the report, she placed eight 911 calls, became disruptive when denied a place to sleep at the police station, and was charged with disorderly conduct and misuse of 911.
