1. North Star Concert at Lincoln Theatre to Feature Mark Lomax II (broadwayworld.com) — A major fall arts highlight is coming to the Lincoln Theatre in Columbus, where local percussionist and composer Dr. Mark Lomax II will headline the North Star concert on November 13. The event, along with a free documentary screening about the theatre's history, reinforces the Lincoln's role as a cultural hub for Black artistry and the wider Columbus community.
   

2. Columbus school employees could see health care costs skyrocket (nbc4i.com) — Thousands of Columbus City Schools employees could see their health insurance premiums jump by up to $550 a month if the district and teachers' union fail to reach a deal by Wednesday's deadline. Union leaders blame a costly consultant agreement and want legal action, while the district disputes mismanagement and says the union must propose fixes before open enrollment begins October 5.
   

3. 4. Ohio State University Hospital wins 2026 Project of the Year (thelantern.com) — Ohio State's new University Hospital in Columbus has been named Project of the Year at the 2026 Building Columbus Awards, recognizing its design, collaboration and community impact. The 26‑story expansion, Ohio State's largest single-facility project, adds 820 rooms with patient-centered features and is already serving high volumes of patients from Columbus and across Ohio.
   

5. Veterans portraits painted by George W. Bush on display at Columbus museum (nbc4i.com) — An exhibit of George W. Bush's "Portraits of Courage" is now on display at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus through the end of December, giving residents months to plan a visit. The show features nearly 100 post‑9/11 veterans' portraits and stories, including Iraq War veteran BJ Ganem, and aims to highlight many forms of service beyond military duty.
