• Victim identified in fatal Pepper Pike wrong-way crash (cleveland.com) — A Lakewood resident has been identified as the victim of a fatal wrong-way crash on I-271 near Pepper Pike, where police say an allegedly intoxicated driver struck his rideshare vehicle head-on. The 39-year-old man later died at the hospital, and a 20-year-old Lyndhurst woman now faces multiple felony charges while still receiving medical treatment. 
• 91% of Ohio voters want a modernized electric grid — a new group is pushing lawmakers to act (cleveland.com) — Lakewood's recent power outages, including several during extreme heat, are being used as a prime example in a new conservative-backed coalition's push to modernize Ohio's electric grid. Build Ohio First is lobbying for legislation to upgrade infrastructure statewide, arguing that residents like those in Lakewood shouldn't face repeated service failures as data centers and energy demands grow.
