• Mentor school board member leaves meeting after dispute with superintendent (cleveland.com) — A Mentor school board meeting turned tense when member Rose Ioppolo publicly accused Superintendent Craig Heath of intimidating, unprofessional behavior during an August executive session, then left about 20 minutes into the meeting. Other board members disputed or declined to discuss her account, citing legal and ethical limits on sharing executive-session details while district business continued without her.

• Garfield Heights police found car break-in suspects with a drone. Numerous departments use them. (cleveland.com) — Police across Northeast Ohio, including Mentor, are increasingly using drones to track suspects, find missing people, and oversee large events while keeping officers safer. Mentor police say drones help monitor big citywide gatherings and risky situations, complementing similar programs in nearby departments as Ohio tests a statewide Drones for First Responders initiative.
