📰 News we're reading
• Do Oxford bars card hard for Miami student IDs? (miamistudent.net) — Oxford bars are increasingly requiring Miami University students to show both a valid government ID and a Miami student ID to get in, especially on busy nights Uptown. Bouncers say the policy helps deter fake IDs and keep the crowd mostly student-based, though it can frustrate students whose digital IDs or phones fail at the door.

• ASG passes bill to make EV charging more affordable at Miami (miamistudent.net) — Miami University's student government just passed its first bill of the year, pushing the school to switch Oxford's campus EV chargers from pricey hourly rates to fairer per-kilowatt pricing. With 14 university-run chargers and two cheaper city-owned ones, supporters hope changes will make bringing an electric car to Oxford more affordable for students.

• BGSU football stuns Miami (Ohio) with game-winning drive in MAC opener (toledoblade.com) — Oxford fans saw a gut-wrenching finish as Bowling Green drove 75 yards in the final seconds to beat Miami (Ohio) at Yager Stadium, handing the Falcons their first win of the season and first in Oxford since 2017. Despite strong moments from Miami's backup quarterback and defense, late field goals weren't enough to hold off the comeback.
