Oklahoma leaders call for action after series of youth gun violence (news9.com) — After several deadly shootings involving juveniles in the Oklahoma City metro, community groups, prosecutors and lawmakers are pushing for stronger intervention programs and more funding to keep guns away from children. Local organizations like Live Free OKC and Peace City OKC say they need city, county and state partners to expand outreach to families and neighborhoods before violence occurs.
   

2. Diversion Hub serving up jobs, support, experience with new food truck (freepressokc.com) — Justice-involved residents in Oklahoma City are getting job training and support through Diversion Hub's new Breakfast Hub food truck, built around the STAND-UP program. Participants gain career readiness, ServSafe certification, and hands-on experience launching a small business, while also working toward GEDs and rebuilding confidence after incarceration. The truck aims to start serving food in October as part of a broader reintegration effort.
   

3. Valley Forge Military College may relocate to Oklahoma City (journalrecord.com) — State lawmakers and business leaders are weighing a proposal that could bring Valley Forge Military College from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma City, potentially adding a historic military junior college to the local higher‑education landscape. The move would require state authorization and possibly legislative changes, but Oklahoma City is the preferred site and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber has signaled support.
   

4. Oklahoma County Clerk needs updated info from Property Alert subscribers (kfor.com) — Oklahoma County is upgrading its Property Alert system, and some Oklahoma City homeowners must re-register to keep getting fraud warnings when paperwork is filed on their property. Officials stress that recent emails about re-enrolling are legitimate, despite looking like spam, and say both the old and new systems will send alerts during the transition. Residents are urged to contact the clerk's office with any questions.
   

5. Police say 16-year-old admitted to killing man as he slept (kfor.com) — Oklahoma City police say a 16-year-old is jailed on a murder complaint after allegedly admitting he fatally shot his neighbor, 58-year-old Harold Stanley, as Stanley slept in his apartment. According to investigators, the teen had been drinking and smoking marijuana, briefly threatened another neighbor, then spent about 20 minutes in Stanley's unit before the shooting. A woman in the apartment escaped, called 911, and was later struck with a pistol.
