Downtown Tulsa skybridge construction closes busy intersection (newson6.com) — If you drive through downtown Tulsa, expect major detours: the intersection of South Boulder Avenue and West 7th Street is fully closed while crews build a new parking garage and diagonal skybridge, with work expected to last until January 2027. Drivers are urged to follow posted signs, allow extra travel time, and use caution around the construction zone.

Tulsa's Holland Hall names new head of school (newson6.com) — Families connected to Holland Hall in Tulsa will see a major leadership change, as educator Brent Kaneft has been named the school's 16th head of school starting July 1, 2027. With a background in leading independent schools and curriculum development, he says his family is eager to join the Tulsa community and help guide Holland Hall's next chapter.

Tulsa deploys first $7.25 million in Improve Our Tulsa 3 housing funds (fox23.com) — Tulsa has deployed the first $7.25 million from the voter‑approved Improve Our Tulsa 3 housing package, backing three projects that will create or preserve 218 homes across the city. With support for new affordable units and rehabilitation of existing housing, city leaders say this is an early step toward a 6,000‑unit affordable housing goal by 2028.
   

4. Traffic box artwork highlights local artists (fox23.com) — New boom box-themed artwork is transforming traffic control boxes in East Tulsa, turning former eyesores into colorful, music-linked installations you can explore right now. Funded by WeStreet Credit Union and a city art grant, the Tulsa Global District project features QR codes that play songs by local musicians and aims to strengthen neighborhood pride and community connection.
   

5. MIT students gain a humanist lens on technical innovation in Tulsa, Oklahoma (mit.edu) — Tulsa is hosting MIT students each summer through the Code.Tulsa program, where they live at the University of Tulsa and work with Muscogee and Cherokee Nation partners, Black Tech Street, and Urban Coders Guild on real-world tech projects. The initiative, along with the Tulsa Advanced Sciences Camp, brings Native high schoolers and top researchers together, expanding STEM access while highlighting Tulsa's role in socially minded innovation.
