Second cougar spotted in Gresham this week (theoutlookonline.com) — Police and state troopers responded after a cougar was spotted in a tree near Springwater Trail High School in Gresham late Wednesday, just days after another injured cougar was euthanized behind Wilkes Elementary. Authorities haven't yet said what they'll do with the latest animal, and residents near these schools should stay alert as officials monitor the situation.

Docs: Salvation Army Sunday School Teacher held without bail on sex abuse charges (katu.com) — Gresham Police arrested a 25-year-old Sunday school teacher after prosecutors alleged he maintained an inappropriate, highly message-based relationship with a 15-year-old girl. Court records describe thousands of messages, multiple in-person meetings, and numerous charges, and a judge has ordered him held without bail pending a preventative detention hearing. The Salvation Army has since terminated his employment.

'Strong' Gresham football excited for 5A sophomore season (theoutlookonline.com) — Gresham High's football team is gearing up for its second season at the 5A level after a 6-4 campaign and an emotional year supporting injured teammate Tucker Santillanes. With a seasoned quarterback, powerful line, and experienced linebackers, coaches say the Gophers are aiming for another playoff run while continuing to rally the community around #TuckerStrong.
