After School Director's Felony Charges, Here's How Lower Merion's Board Will Replace Her (patch.com) — Residents in the Lower Merion School District, including Ardmore, can now apply to fill a vacant School Board seat created by the resignation of director Jennifer Rivera. Applications are due Sept. 9, with public interviews scheduled Sept. 22 and the appointed member serving through 2027. Materials can be emailed or delivered to the district offices on East Montgomery Avenue in Ardmore.

SHE Fest: Women's Music & Vendor Events to Make Ardmore Music Hall Debut (mychesco.com) — A free women-centered music and vendor festival is coming to Ardmore Music Hall this Sunday, August 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., featuring live bands, women-owned business vendors, and local nonprofits. Founded in Norristown, SHE Fest is expanding to Ardmore while keeping its focus on empowering women, shopping local, and raising funds and supplies for area charities.
   

4. Man convicted of sexual assault gets 3-6 years, but stays on bail pending appeal (delcotimes.com) — A 72-year-old Ardmore resident has been sentenced to three to six years in state prison for sexual assault but is remaining free on electronic monitoring while he appeals. Prosecutors argued for a longer term, while the judge weighed his age, lack of prior record, and the victim's ongoing trauma before setting the sentence and strict probation conditions.
   

5. Tax Fraud Blotter: Get your stolen checks here (accountingtoday.com) — A recent federal tax-fraud roundup includes a major stolen-check scheme tied to several Philadelphia-area defendants, including one man from Ardmore. Prosecutors say the group resold millions of dollars in stolen U.S. Treasury checks, and the Ardmore resident faces sentencing in October alongside his co-defendants.
