Ceremonies, Radio Broadcast To Mark Sept. 11th Anniversary In Bucks

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The nation will pause today to mark the 25th anniversary of the deadliest terror attack in American history.

The attack claimed 2,977 lives at the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and at the Flight 93 crash site in Western Pennsylvania. It also marks the 25th anniversary of countless acts of courage, unity, and selflessness.

Here are several ways the public can mark today's anniversary:

Doylestown Borough

Philadelphia TalkRadio 1210 (WPHT) will broadcast live from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Doylestown Fire Company while raising money for the Travis Manion Foundation, a Doylestown-based organization that actively honors and supports active duty soldiers, veterans, and first responders. Throughout the day, radio hosts will interview first responders, families impacted by 9/11, and dignitaries who will share their perspectives and memories of one of the most impactful days in American history. They’ll also invite listeners to donate to the Travis Manion Foundation in person and online. The lineup includes Kayal & Company in the morning, Dom Giordano from 12 to 3 p.m., and Rich Zeoli from 3 to 6 p.m.

Warrington Township

A Patriots Day Remembrance Ceremony will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Warrington Township Building, 852 Easton Road, Warrington 18976. The solemn ceremony will provide an opportunity for the community to come together in reflection and remembrance on the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. The commemoration in Warrington is organized by the Warrington Township Veteran Affairs Committee.

Warwick/Warminster

Hartsville Fire Company, 1195 York Road, will hold its annual 9/11 Flag Memorial and Memorial Service to mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. 403 American flags will be displayed on the front lawn of the fire station in honor of the 343 FDNY firefighters, 37 Port Authority officers, and 23 NYPD officers who lost their lives while saving others on September 11, 2001. Two additional flags will honor local firefighters John Kulick and Tristan Smith, who were killed in action while serving in Iraq. The fire station will be open from sunrise to sundown, and members of the community are invited to stop by, reflect, and remember. An evening Memorial Service beginning at 7 p.m. will include a reading of the names of the fallen firefighters and police officers. The public is invited to attend.

Lower Makefield

The Garden of Reflection, Pennsylvania's official 9-11 Memorial, will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001 with observances on Friday, Sept. 11, at Memorial Park on Woodside Road. A morning ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will follow the timeline of the attacks with the tolling of a memorial bell at each significant event. The ceremony will include the reading of the names of the 18 Bucks County residents and all Pennsylvanians who lost their lives on that day, along with remarks from community leaders. Following the ceremony, the Garden of Reflection will remain open for quiet reflection, and visitors are invited to walk the memorial on self-guided tours. An evening remembrance ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude before sunset, offering the community an opportunity to honor, reflect, and unite in remembrance as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to participate in a candle-lighting to pay tribute to the lives lost and share a quiet moment of reflection and hope.
