"Good Trouble Lives On" Rally Set For Saturday In Doylestown

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Action League is organizing a community rally for Saturday as part of the national "Good Trouble Lives On, Weekend of Action."

The event will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, on the lawn of the Bucks County Administration Building.

Inspired by the legacy of late civil rights icon and Congressman John Lewis, the event aims to bring community members together to advocate for social justice, voting rights, and civic engagement.

Organizers tell Patch the afternoon will include "an impactful
lineup" of local leaders, activists, and musical performers dedicated to keeping the spirit of "good trouble" alive.

Speakers include Bob Harvie (PA 01 candidate for the U.S. House), Barbara Simmons (executive director of the Peace Center), Ian Austin (Delaney Hall activist), Liza Heavener (former John Lewis staffer), Jesse Ketchel (Doylestown Action League) and others.

Music will be provided by Mindy Murrey, Neal Carson, Baron Tiger and Dissent Rising. Nick Maio will serve as MC.

"We are proud to unite our community for this national weekend of action," a representative from the Doylestown Action League tells Patch. "Now more than ever, it is vital that we raise our voices, engage with our community leaders, and continue the necessary work to secure a just and equitable future for all."

The event is free, outdoors, and open to all members of the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs, chairs, or blankets for the lawn. The Action League is collecting non-perishable food and toiletries for local agencies in need.
