📰 News we're reading

1. New Orleans-Inspired Seafood Boil Coming To Doylestown Restaurant (patch.com) — Doylestown food lovers can look forward to a New Orleans-style seafood boil at Maxwell's On Main, complete with gulf shrimp, andouille sausage, and optional blue crab. The Oct. 17 "Boil & Brass" event on North Main Street pairs southern cocktails, dessert, and a Philadelphia brass band, as the restaurant aims to launch a new neighborhood tradition.

2. Popular Doylestown Pizzeria Expanding To Montgomery Co. (patch.com) — Doylestown residents can take pride as Lucatelli's Pizzeria, long celebrated locally for its pies, hot sandwiches, and vodka sauce at Mercer Square, prepares to open a new location in Jenkintown. The story traces owner Dave Schiano's journey from losing his Philadelphia shop during COVID-19 to rebuilding in Doylestown, where he refined recipes that now fuel the brand's regional expansion.

3. Four high schools in Bucks ranked among the best in the nation – Bucks Round-Up – September 29, 2026 (bucksindependence.com) — Doylestown Borough saw a late‑night disturbance as roughly 300 teens crowded downtown after a Central Bucks West football game, prompting numerous police calls for noise, fighting, and car alarms, though no arrests so far. The same roundup highlights top‑ranked Bucks County high schools and ongoing PennDOT work in Middletown, but the teen gathering raises immediate concerns about safety and crowd control in the borough.

4. CB West to Add Police to Football Games After Problems in Doylestown on Friday Night (tapinto.net) — After a crowd of about 300 teens caused disturbances in Doylestown following a CB West football game, the Central Bucks School District will boost police presence during and after evening sporting events. Administrators will also address student behavior expectations and remind parents that middle schoolers must be accompanied by adults at games, ahead of the next home matchup on Oct. 16.

5. Not So Silent Cinema to Accompany First-Ever Haunted House Mystery Film (towntopics.com) — Doylestown film lovers can catch a live-scored screening of the classic silent thriller "The Cat and the Canary" at the County Theater on October 14, featuring original music by Not So Silent Cinema. The ensemble, known for inventive scores to films like "Nosferatu," is touring regional venues and bringing its spooky, tongue‑in‑cheek soundtrack style to Bucks County.
