Harvey Taylor Bridge inspection will cause sidewalk closures (abc27.com) — If you walk across Harrisburg's Harvey Taylor Bridge, expect one sidewalk to be closed Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a PennDOT inspection. The eastbound-side sidewalk will be shut, but the westbound sidewalk and both traffic lanes will stay open, with pedestrians directed to cross using marked crossings or the underpass on each side of the river.
   

2. Senators Top Curve 8-5 for Back-to-Back Wins, Clinch Season Series with Altoona (mlb.com) — Harrisburg baseball fans saw the Senators rally from an early 3-0 deficit to beat Altoona 8-5 at home, clinching the season series. Big nights from Devin Fitz-Gerald, Branden Boissiere, and Sam Brown powered the comeback, while rehabbing pitcher Josiah Gray delivered a clean inning. The team now aims to lock up the full series win in Sunday's home finale.

Harrisburg area firefighters return home after weeks of battling wildfires in Washington (dailydispatch.com) — Firefighters from the Harrisburg area are back home after spending weeks battling intense wildfires in Washington state as part of a Pennsylvania DCNR crew. Working overnight shifts in dangerous conditions, they faced towering flames and unfamiliar terrain, but emphasized teamwork and training in getting through the toughest assignments.
   

4. Feds charge three from Carlisle, Harrisburg with lying about citizenship to vote – Tri-State Alert (tristatealert.com) — Federal prosecutors have charged three people, including a Harrisburg resident, with allegedly lying about their citizenship status to vote in the 2024 election. The Harrisburg woman and a Carlisle couple face various counts tied to alien voting, false citizenship statements, and fraudulent registration, with potential prison time and fines if convicted under federal sentencing guidelines.
   

5. Lebanon County lawmaker to introduce skill game legislation as Supreme Court's deadline nears (newsitem.com) — From Harrisburg, a Lebanon County lawmaker plans to introduce two bills to legalize skill game machines and direct nearly $1 billion toward Pennsylvania homeowners' property tax relief. If the General Assembly acts before the Supreme Court's deadline, the changes could eventually influence how much Harrisburg-area residents pay in school and municipal property taxes.
