Pa. education department auditing School District of Lancaster, district officials confirm (lancasteronline.com) — The Pennsylvania Department of Education is auditing the School District of Lancaster's finances after recent revelations of multimillion‑dollar deficits, emergency borrowing, and staff cuts, though officials describe the review as routine compliance. Local parent Jessica Lopez and other community members are pressing for more transparency and possibly an additional independent audit, while the board has already raised real estate taxes and made major budget adjustments.
   

2. Lancaster Township approves camping ordinance for homeless people in designated areas (local21news.com) — Lancaster Township supervisors have approved a new ordinance allowing limited, regulated camping for homeless residents on certain industrial properties from March through November, while most camping remains illegal. The move, coordinated in part with Lancaster City over a planned camp removal on North Conestoga Drive, is billed as a first step toward a broader homelessness strategy but has drawn mixed reactions from local advocates.
   

3. Lancaster County man sentenced up to 8 years in prison for sexually assaulting woman (fox43.com) — A Lancaster County man from Salisbury Township has been sentenced to four to eight years in state prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman at his home. Prosecutors from the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office said he admitted to multiple sexual assault and indecent assault charges, and he will be evaluated to determine if he is a sexually violent predator.

ADVERTISEMENT TO BID SACA Community Building Renovations for SACA Development Corporation SACA Development Corporation will be (lancasteronline.com) — Contractors in Lancaster should note that SACA Development Corporation is seeking sealed bids for community building renovations at Tec Centro West on High Street, with submissions due October 19. A non‑mandatory pre‑bid meeting or site visit at the Pershing Avenue location is required for prime bidders, and bid documents will be available electronically starting September 21.
   

5. Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation to Attend Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies Annual Meeting (theoutdoorwire.com) — Lancaster will host the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies' national annual meeting from September 14–18, bringing more than 700 conservation and wildlife leaders to town. The Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation will participate in multiple committees and discussions on hunting, fishing, and conservation, and attendees can connect directly with its executive director during the conference.
