New Outpatient Facility Opens In Delco
The health center is located on the floor above a new micro-hospital that has 10 emergency beds and 10 inpatient beds.

ASTON, PA — ChristianaCare has opened an outpatient facility above its micro-hospital in Aston.
The ChristianaCare Health Center at Aston provides primary care, specialty services, cardiac testing, and imaging services such as X-rays and ultrasound appointments.
It's on the second floor of the facility housing ChristianaCare's micro-hospital at 700 Turner Industrial Way, which opened a few months ago. The "neighborhood" hospital offers 24/7 emergency care and contains 10 emergency beds and 10 inpatient beds.

Prospect filed for bankruptcy in early 2025, ending Crozer's operations. This wiped out critical health care infrastructure in Delco, including two hospitals, several outpatient facilities, and some of the county's primary Emergency Medical Services.
ChristianaCare — a large, Delaware-headquartered regional health care provider — reopened five of Crozer's former Delco outpatient centers after acquiring them for $50.3 million at Prospect's bankruptcy auction.
But more than a year after Delco's most-recent hospital closures, it remains unclear whether the area will ever return to its former emergency-care capacity. (The shuttered hospitals — Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park — had about 600 combined beds.)
Chariot Allaire Partners, which acquired Crozer-Chester Medical Center, said the hospital in Upland will reopen at a tenth of its former size.
Last year, local investor group KQT Aikens Partners purchased Springfield and Taylor hospitals. Owner Todd Strine told 6abc Action News that KQT wants to reopen Springfield Hospital and bring medical care back to the Taylor Hospital campus. But it's unclear when they might reopen, and with what capacity.
Last month, Main Line Health received $1 million in state funding for a future project at Taylor Hospital. But it's not confirmed whether that will involve emergency care.
