The weekend fun continues on Sunday with a public open house from 1 to 5 p.m. at the historic Octagonal Schoolhouse, 2091 Second Street Pike, Wrightstown. Visitors should enter the site from Swamp Road for parking. The open house is being presented by the Historical Commission.
This month's featured program at the schoolhouse is “Octagonal Artistry," an exhibit showcasing original artwork by Wrightstown Elementary School students inspired by the 1802 Octagonal School.
Students from Wrightstown Elementary who have an interest in local history and art created pieces based on the eight-sided schoolhouse, which is located just over one mile from their school near Penns Park. The artwork project was led by art teacher Ms. Miguelez.
Participating students will be recognized by the Board of Supervisors and the Historical Commission for their contributions to local art and history.
