Newtown EAC Is Going Native With Container Gardening Workshop
The May event at Patriots Park will cover native plants, soil, containers, and care for small-space gardens.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Anyone looking to add native plants to a patio, balcony, or small outdoor space will have a chance to learn how during an upcoming workshop at Patriots Park.
The event, titled “Plant Native, Grow Happy: Container Gardening Workshop,” is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Patriots Park, 112 Court Street, Newtown Borough.
According to organizers, the workshop will feature a practical demonstration by an expert Master Gardener. Attendees will learn how to choose native plants, soil, and containers, along with how to care for them.

“Container gardening is ideal for patios, balconies, or adding wildlife-friendly features to your landscape,” said the organizers. "It also helps support pollinators and birds while making a positive local impact.”
People who attend will also receive information about Pennsylvania native plants and where to buy them, according to the announcement. And participants will get take-home starter plants as part of the workshop.

Space is limited to 25 attendees. There is a $15 fee. To register and for more information, click here. Residents interested in attending may want to register early because of the attendance cap listed in the announcement.
