2. $1.1M Dam Removal Project Underway At Tyler State Park (patch.com) — Newtown-area residents will see major changes along Neshaminy Creek as a $1.3 million project removes the Spring Garden Dam at Tyler State Park on the Newtown–Northampton border. State and federal partners say the work will improve safety for paddlers, restore fish habitat, and enhance recreation, with only minor temporary trail closures and construction impacts expected through the end of the month.

3. Middletown changes policy in temporary signs – Bucks Round-Up – September 17, 2026 (bucksindependence.com) — Newtown Township supervisors signaled they are unlikely to rezone 17 acres on Lower Silver Lake Road, putting a proposed DeLuca Homes townhome community in doubt and energizing residents worried about flooding and sewer capacity. The same site previously drew controversy as a potential wastewater plant location, and neighbors are now pushing for more public input on any future plans there.

4. Backlash on New Duo Security Measures for the Fall Semester (bucks-news.com) — Students and faculty at Bucks County Community College's Newtown campus are grappling with access problems after the college rolled out Duo Security for all logins on the first day of fall classes. Some couldn't reach Canvas or email, classes were delayed, and many complain about the inconvenience of constant two-factor authentication, though the college says the system is needed to protect thousands of users from cyber threats.

5. 9/11 Remembrance: 25 Years Later (bucks-news.com) — A 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Bucks County Community College's Newtown campus gathered students, staff, and community members around the Tears for Freedom fountain to honor victims 25 years after the attacks.
