Norristown Man Entered Country Illegally, Sold Fake IDs: Feds
Circumstances surrounding the sales were not made clear by authorities.
NORRISTOWN, PA — A Norristown man who federal officials said entered the country illegally sold fake IDs and related documents, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Laboriel Serrano Fernandez, also known as Ivan Serrano, 42, a citizen of Mexico, faces four counts of transferring unlawful identification documents.
Authorities said Fernandez knew the documents were fake and still sold them.

“Selling fake identification documents is a serious crime that threatens our national security and puts all of us at risk,” U.S. Attorney David Metcalf said in a statement “My office will prosecute to the fullest extent anyone putting these fraudulent IDs into circulation.”

The U.S. Attorney did not say when Fernandez had entered the country.
He faces up to 60 years behind bars if convicted.
