US 202 Reopens In King Of Prussia After Sinkhole Remediation Work

Officials hope the 6 month closure of the roadway will be a "long term solution" to the sinkhole crisis.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Major construction has been completed on the sinkhole remediation project on U.S. 202 south, and the roadway between Henderson Road and Saelin Boulevard has now been reopened.

The move should be a boon for local congestion. The roadway has been shut down since late February as work was completed on a stretch that has seen numerous sinkhole incidents over the past several years.

Lane closures may remain in place periodically over the coming days as final aspects of the project are completed.

Northbound lanes of 202 were shut down for around 8 months in 2025 for similar work, which was completed in Nov. 2025.

Crews completed what PennDOT described as a "limited mobility grouting program."

A series of holes are drilled in the pavement in a grid pattern. The drilled holes are then filled with pressurized grout, which is typically a mixture of cement, water, and sand, to stabilize the ground immediately beneath the pavement. Crews are also working on drainage improvements and pavement reconstruction.

Officials are hopeful the work provides a long term solution to the sinkhole issue.
