• Vote clearing way for major data center shelved as hundreds pack hearing in Slate Belt (lehighvalleylive.com) — Lower Mount Bethel Township in Northampton County's Slate Belt drew more than 250 people to a packed hearing on a proposed data center ordinance, but supervisors delayed a vote until Sept. 14. Residents raised concerns about property values, water and power use, environmental impacts, and artificial intelligence, while developers offered a scaled-back plan near the Talen Energy power plant.
   

• Palmer Township man charged in $27K Ferrari scam, police say (lehighvalleylive.com) — A Palmer Township man is accused of taking $27,000 from a New Jersey couple for a Ferrari they never received, with the case now moving through Northampton County Court. He was initially held in Northampton County Prison before being released on unsecured bail, and a judge will soon decide if the charges advance toward trial.
   

• Week of Aug. 20 (homenewspa.com) — A 40-year-old Northampton Area High School graduate and Pennsburg resident has died unexpectedly, leaving behind his wife, three young sons, and extended family with deep roots in Moore Township and the Lehigh Valley. Friends and neighbors can pay respects at George G. Bensing Funeral Home in Bath on August 21 and 22, with interment to follow at Hope Cemetery of Hecktown.
