7 Killed In PA Home Explosion, Fire

Seven people perished in a home explosion in Pennsylvania on Sunday. Get the details here.

CLINTON COUNTY, PA — Seven people, including six children, died in a massive explosion at a home in Lamar Township on Sunday.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, multiple fire departments were dispatched to the Long Run Road residence at approximately 8:30 a.m.

Upon arriving, fire department units confirmed that seven people were inside the home. But the residence was fully engulfed in flames and they could not attempt to rescue those inside.

Killed in the incident was Sarah Stolzfus, 34; her 11, 10, 6 and 3- year-old sons and her 8 and 6-year-old daughters.

State police said a propane leak inside the home is a possible cause of the explosion and fire. There were propane tanks outside the home as well, but they did not explode and are not considered factors in the explosion.
