Armed Man Enters Car, Confronts Woman At Pittsburgh Walmart

BETHEL PARK, PA — A man armed with a knife entered the rear seat of an occupied vehicle at the Walmart on Library Road at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.

According to Bethel Park police, the suspect made demands of the woman driver, who quickly exited the vehicle and called for help.

The suspect fled the scene, but arriving officer within minutes and established a perimeter containing him to the immediate area.

The victim and multiple witnesses provided officers with timely and accurate information that led to the suspect quickly being apprehended.

According to police, the as-yet unidentified suspect is expected to face multiple criminal charges related to the incident.

Police praised the victim and witnesses in a social media post.

"Our victim did a fantastic job taking immediate action to protect herself in this incident and kept numerous others safe by alerting them of the threat," the post stated.

" We are very thankful for the vigilant witnesses who remained on scene and assisted the victim and responding officers. Without their quick calls to 911 and accurate descriptions, we would not have located the actor so quickly."
