Cranberry Memorial Day Ceremony Set For May 24 At North Boundary Park
The May 24 ceremony at North Boundary Park will honor service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA —Cranberry’s 27th Annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday May 24, at the Veterans Memorial in North Boundary Park. The event will honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
It is being presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 879.
The annual ceremony is set to run about 45 minutes and will bring together veterans groups, students and community members for the township’s Memorial Day observance. Refreshments will be served after the program.

Colonel Ret. Douglas Etter of the United States Army is the guest speaker for this year’s event. Participating organizations include the Cranberry VFW Post 879 color guard and the Ohio Valley Marine Corps League Detachment 882 color guard and rifle squad.
Students from Seneca Valley High School are scheduled to sing the National Anthem and present a trumpet performance during the ceremony. Veterans also will present six memorial wreaths as part of the observance.

The program will also include a remembrance of POW-MIAs with the release of white doves. The ceremony is centered at the Veterans Memorial in North Boundary Park, where the township has held the annual event to mark Memorial Day and recognize those who died in service.
The gathering continues a long-running local tradition tied to the Memorial Day holiday. With veterans organizations leading the ceremony and students taking part in the music, the event brings together several parts of the community for a public remembrance.
Those attending can expect the program to begin at 1 p.m. Sunday and conclude roughly 45 minutes later, followed by refreshments. The ceremony is open to the community at North Boundary Park.
