Downtown Pittsburgh MilkShake Factory Location Marks Major Milestone

PITTSBURGH, PA — MilkShake Factory wants to thank people for supporting its Downtown Pittsburgh location for the past decade.

A popular destination for handspun milkshakes and small-batch cookies, MilkShake will celebrate 10 years Downtown on the first floor of PNC Plaza on Sept. 19.

One that day, MilkShake Factor will offer customers a buy one, get one free milkshake deal all day. The first 100 patrons also will receive a limited edition Pittsburgh MilkShake Factory T-shirt. Additional giveaways and surprises will take place throughout the day.

“Celebrating 10 years Downtown is incredibly special for our family,” said Dana Edwards Manatos, CEO of MilkShake Factory. "“Pittsburgh has been home to our family and our business for generations, and this store has given us a special place to share that tradition with so many people. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has walked through our doors over the past decade and made this location part of their own Pittsburgh memories.”

The company dates back to 1914, when two Grecian immigants opened their first chocolate shop and soda fountain in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. The MilkShake Factory name was launched in 1995 at the chain's now-closed South Side location.

Other Pittsburgh locations besides the Downtown one are in South Fayette, Cranberry, McMurray, Moon, Murrysville, East Liberty, Oakland, McCandless and PPG Paints Arena.
