Juneteenth In Pittsburgh 2026: What To Know
Pittsburgh has numerous activities planned for Juneteenth this year and also will close some places in observance of the holiday.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh will honor Juneteenth and African American heritage with city-hosted events from now through June 27.
The city’s Juneteenth events include celebrations, activities and more for residents and families to enjoy, including co-hosting a Juneteenth celebration event with WAMO 107.3 on June 27 in Highland Park. For more than 30 years, WAMO has been hosting Pittsburgh Juneteenth celebrations, with the first organized event in 1993.
The finale event will feature entertainment, vendors, and activities for all ages, including performances from WAMO’s Future Flava artists Lia, Harlan Tobe Jr. and Harley Dyse, with additional family-friendly fun from House of Waxx, Living Treasures Wild Animal Park and Cheat Code Gaming Truck.

Local art and food vendors will also be on site with items for purchase. The festivities will also recognize WAMO 107.3 on-air host Ki Ki B. Jones for contributions to the city.

Pittsburgh administrative offices will be closed on Friday 2026 in observance of Juneteenth. Additional public facilities and services will be closed orto delayed due to the holiday.
Environmental Services
There will be no Pittsburgh refuse, recycling or bulk waste collection on Friday, June 19. Households whose regular collection day is this Friday will be serviced on Saturday.
Residents can see their scheduled collection days, including holiday schedules, on the annual collection schedule and newsletter. Residents with questions can contact the Bureau of Environmental Services at 412-255-2773.
Parks & Recreation (CitiParks)
All CitiParks facilities will be closed on Friday, with the exception of spray parks.
