• 2026 Pittsburgh Irish Festival bringing food & festivities back to Carrie Blast Furnaces (wpxi.com) — Pittsburgh's Irish Festival returns Sept. 11–13, 2026, to Carrie Blast Furnaces with three days of music, dance, kids' activities, and plenty of Irish food and drink. New this year are floral workshops, an Irish trivia contest, expanded Celtic wellness offerings, strongman stone challenges, and heritage-focused tours and genealogy help, giving Pittsburghers many ways to celebrate Irish culture close to home.
   

• Community, elected leaders gather in Homewood for 'celebration of life' in wake of deadly shootings (wpxi.com) — Neighbors, faith leaders, and elected officials gathered in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood for an annual "celebration of life" that took on new urgency after two recent fatal shootings nearby. Speakers urged residents not to lose hope, while police continue investigating the separate killings and a wounding at a Frankstown Avenue convenience store.
