Popular Pittsburgh Ice Cream Shop Truck Significantly Damaged In Crash

PITTSBURGH, PA — A car crash at Page's Dairy Mart on East Caron Street the South Side has taken the beloved ice cream shop's new truck out of commission.

According to a video posted on Page's social media pages, the crash occurred around 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday. The video also shows a person exiting the crashed car and then running away.

Page's released a statement following the crash, saying they are still assessing the damage.

"We worked so hard to bring that truck back to life, and we loved spending our first summer out on the road with it. To have something we put so much time, effort, and love into damaged by someone else’s reckless and careless actions is heartbreaking in more ways than one," the statement said.

We’re hopeful that law enforcement will identify those responsible and hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law."

It's unclear when the truck will be back in service. The dairy mart is closed for the winter.
