Unique Three-Level Asian-Themed Restaurant Opens In Pittsburgh

There's something for everyone at the new Pittsburgh restaurant Okane.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A three-story Downtown building has been renovated and softly opens Thursday as Okane. It's a new restaurant by the Opal Group, a fast growing Pittsburgh restaurant company.

Okane, located at 245 Fourth Avenue, intends to offer three distinct experiences to its patrons.

The first floor is home to Okane Sweet Spot, which will offer handcrafted matcha drinks; Vietnamese coffee with unique cold foam toppings; crispy bubble waffles; creamy matcha soft-serve; and a variety of iced and bubble teas..

The second floor is home to Okane’s Omakase concept, which offers freshly flown-in sushi and chef-designed courses. Okane’s Omikase experience is a curated tasting where the master chefs select the freshest fish and seasonal ingredients of the day. Okane’s Omakase floor also features a small batch Sake collection and handcrafted cocktails to pair with the chef-driven menus.

The third floor, the Okane Rooftop, is a rooftop patio. Set amongst some of the City’s most iconic buildings and offering unique , the patio boasts a retractable awning and abundant greenery. The patio will be open for lunch and offer items such as sushi tacos, unique sushi rolls, and more.

The patio transforms for happy hour and, eventually, late night offerings. Guests can expect the elevated cocktails and mocktails, food and regular parties and programming, ranging from local DJs to world-renowned acts.

Okane will officially open to the public in early August with Grand Opening VIP parties, tastings, and first-to-market experiences, to be announced soon.

In the meantime, guests are encouraged to try Okane Sweet Spot and Okane Rooftop’s limited offerings during the soft opening time.

Okane Rooftop and Opal Sweet Spot's current hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Opal Group's restaurants include Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings and Opa Fe, both located in Southside Works, and Top Pot Korean BBQ on East Carson Street in the South Side. It soon will open Opal Buffet in the former Rock Bottom space at The Waterfront.
