• A car named Caroline (eastbayri.com) — A 99-year-old Bristol resident, Caroline Guida, recently decided to stop driving and sell her well-kept 2013 Kia Rio, which had only 33,000 miles. The teen who bought it surprised her with flowers, a heartfelt note, and a promise to name the car "Caroline," leaving the longtime Bristol driver deeply touched.

• $13.5 million in federal funding headed to Providence Ferry Terminal (whatsupnewp.com) — Bristol residents who ride the seasonal ferry to Providence and Newport will benefit from a $13.5 million federal upgrade to the Providence Ferry Terminal, improving comfort, accessibility, and connections. While construction focuses on Providence, the investment supports the popular route that carries thousands of passengers each summer between Bristol and the rest of the bay.
