• Register to give blood Tuesday (jamestownpress.com) — Jamestown residents are invited to a community blood drive Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the recreation center on Conanicus Avenue, held in honor of longtime donor and native James McLoughlin. Anyone 17 or older and over 110 pounds can participate with photo ID, and appointments are encouraged through the Rhode Island Blood Center.
   

• POWs, MIAs set to be honored Friday (jamestownpress.com) — Jamestown's American Legion and VFW posts will fly the POW/MIA flag at Veterans Memorial Square this Friday to honor missing and captured service members, including several with deep local roots. The ceremony highlights stories of Jamestown-connected men from the Civil War, World War II, and the Korean War whose sacrifices and unresolved fates still resonate today.
