Body Pulled From Providence River

PROVIDENCE, RI — A body was pulled from the Providence River Thursday morning.

"The Providence Police Department is investigating after a body was discovered in the area of the Point Street Bridge," Kristy dosReis, the chief public information officer for the Providence Department of Public Safety, said in an email.

"The individual has been transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner for further examination," dosReis said, noting that no further information was available at the time.
