📰 News we're reading

• Two Lowcountry fire departments awarded FEMA grants (counton2.com) — Hanahan firefighters are getting over $130,000 in FEMA funding to install new exhaust capture systems at all three city fire stations, reducing long-term cancer risks from diesel fumes. The grant, alongside a larger award to the C&B Fire Department, will fund cleaner air both on calls and back at the station, with Hanahan's upgrades expected to roll out over the next two years.
